344 Food Samples in Five Markets in S. Jakarta Examined

The integrated food safety supervision once again held in four traditional markets and one modern market that spread in South Jakarta.

Food sample examination is executed on the spot

Agung Meidya Gutama, Sub-Division Head of Cooperative, UKM Trade and Food Security disclosed those markets are Cipete Utara Market, Cipete Selatan Market, Pondok Labu Market, Mede Market, and supermarket in Cilandak area.

"Food sample examination is executed on the spot," he expressed, Tuesday (4/16).

Food Products in Five Traditional Markets in E. Jakarta Examined

It was conducted to realize safe food from harmful substances such as borax, rodhamin and formalin. Additionally, at the same time, the test of decay and mixed pork content in beef was also conducted. 

"Food supervision is consisting of agricultural, livestock and fishery commodities, as well as processed products sold in traditional markets and supermarket," he told. 

This time, his side took 344 samples from five markets, with details, 150 samples of agricultural products, 40 samples of livestock product and 135 samples of fishery product.

"There are also 19 samples of processed food from Jakarta BPOM. So there are totally 344 samples," he stated.
